CEDIA Expo 2009

Latest News stories… “Designing Interiors with Technology” Conference CEDIA Expo is hosting “Designing Interiors with Technology”, a conference for interior designers explaining how they can enhance their interior design schemes with integrated audio, visual, lighting and other technologies.
The conference is sponsored by the BIDA (British Interior Design Association), leading interior design magazine idFX, and Decorex, the interior design show for professionals. The conference is a free half day education event taking place on the morning of Wednesday 24th June at the ExCeL London venue. The event will promote the benefits of including smart home technology in residential interior design projects as well as introducing CEDIA itself and the work of its members. It will explain what interior designers need to know about home cinema rooms and provide a home electronics technology ‘jargon-buster’.

The event will also take a look at trends in home electronics technology, issues in lighting control, and what’s around the corner that interior designers should be aware of. Register for Expo If you’ve not already pre-registered for your free ticket to Expo you still have time!

Education at Expo Following a detailed review of the Expo 2008 education curriculum alongside survey feedback and continuing, year-on-year expansion of the CEDIA training schedule outside of Expo, we’re introducing a number of significant changes for 2009. The education programme will continue to run for four days from 22nd-25th June inclusive. It will comprise a blend of one day workshops focused on specific industry issues, such as, HDMI distribution, alongside shorter sessions provided in a tighter 4 hour time slot from 10 AM until 2 PM on each of the show days 23rd-25th June. Programme content will be rationalised according to delegate demand, relevance and quality assessments. CEDIA is also increasing opportunities for exhibitors to provide Trade Supplier training sessions which are free to all visitors. These modifications will result in a more focused programme, so education delegates can achieve the best possible return for their education investment whilst balancing their time more easily between training and the show floor.
